Structural Pruning is recommended for maintaining or improving tree health and structure. Hazard pruning is recommended to reduce the danger of a specific target caused by visibly defined hazards in a tree.
Hazard Reduction or Maintenance Pruning should consist of one or more of these types:
- Crown Cleaning - The selective removal of one or more of the following items: dead, dying, or diseased branches,weak branches, and watersprouts.
- Crown Thinning -The selective removal of branches to increase light penetration, air movement, and reduce weight.
- Crown Raising - the removal of the lower branches of a tree to provide clearance.
- Crown Reduction - decreases the height or spread of a tree.
- Vista Pruning -Selective thinning of framework limbs or specific areas of the crown to allow a specific view of an object from a predetermined point.
- Crown Restoration - improves the structure, form and appearance of trees which have been severely headed, vandalized, or storm damaged.
- Bark Tracing - A process where you clean cut around the wound caused by a fallen or broken branch. Tracing will hasten the healing process.
